The Boone County School District, overseeing educational institutions across the majority of Boone County in the Cincinnati metropolitan area, holds the third position in student enrollment among Kentucky’s school districts, following Jefferson County and Fayette County.
With an enrollment of nearly 21,000 students and a workforce of around 4,000 personnel, as of 2019, the district manages 25 schools.
Notably, the southernmost area of the county, encompassing Walton, falls outside the purview of the Boone County district. Instead, educational services for this region are provided by the Walton-Verona Independent Schools.
